This is a Full Time Job
As an Environment Surfacing Artist you will be involved in many aspects of the look, working in coordination with the Production team, Art Director, Environment supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor to deliver a visually impressive look.
Responsibilities
• Creates textures utilizing photography, pre-existing textures and procedural software.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance designer.
• Possesses the ability to create, adapt, and iterate, within a variety of artistic styles.
• Create and modify shaders in the main renderengines.
• Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
• Show a clear understanding of UVs and texture layout.
• Possess the ability to create procedural shaders.
• Collaborates with other team members, when necessary.
• Follows the Supervisor's and Lead´s guidance.
Requirements
• 3-5 years in VFX or animation industries.
• 1 years in the animation industry is desirable.
• Experience in Arnold and/or Renderman.
• Experience in Substance package and/or Mari.
• Shows strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation or VFX.
• Possesses deep knowledge of creating UVs.
• Knowledge of lighting, modeling and optimization.
• Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation.
• Management of large scenes, huge locations or complex sequences.
• Knowledge of Houdini, Solaris or Katana is desirable.
• USD and/or OSL knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge in vegetation workflow (instances and scatter) is a plus.
• Understanding of displacement workflow (maps and geo output) is a plus.
• High English level desirable.
• Spanish desirable
