Position Overview:
Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Character FX TDs! The role involves creating set-ups, models, and animating assigned character external features such as hair, fur, and cloth to meet art direction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.
• Able to create character simulations for multiple types of character features and may have in-depth skills in one area (e.g., hair or cloth).
• Participates in writing utility scripts and software code that streamlines the simulation development process.
• Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines.
• Participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
• Interacts with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
• Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback.
• Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions.

Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of relevant software including Maya, Linux, UNIX, and scripting ability in relevant languages including MEL, Perl, and Python is highly desirable.
• Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate; however, a minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.

Salary Information:
• The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $26.44 to $36.32/hr.
• For an Intermediate position, the salary ranges from $37.50 to $53.80/hr.
• Benefits are per company policy, which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, sick and vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
• The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location of the position.
