Ultra is looking for an enthusiastic, bright, and organized Creative Director with a passion for electronic music to lead and support the Ultra team in New York. As the Creative Director, you will lead the Creative Department as well as liaise with all the different departments of the label. You're a highly organized individual, with strong social skills and ability to work in a forward-thinking fast paced team of like-minded individuals. You will be responsible for developing artist's creative concepts while also liaising with both in-house and third-party teams to execute the vision from start to finish. You will collaborate directly with the extended team, creative team members, artists, their management teams, and other departments in executing and ideating concepts for each artist on the label depending on the needs. You can lead a conversation as well as set up your team members for success, with an understanding the business side of the industry.
Your concepts and designs will extend into solutions for social media, packaging, merchandise, web, mobile, animation and interactive projects throughout the artist's campaign. You will help assist at various degrees throughout the production and implementation of the design process to make sure your creative remains consistent. Able to work independently and on a team, you must be self-directed, driven, and capable of managing competing priorities under tight timelines. You will demonstrate leadership qualities and mentor by example. You're a fast learner, understand culture and a team player.

What you'll do:
• Creative Direction/Art Direction – developing concepts, references and moodboards to articulate and communicate the vision and identity of both brand and collection, ensuring the design output follows the intended direction throughout the process.
• Be a strong voice in the artist's narrative with branding, styling, short form content and artwork for a new or developed artist/group including directing photoshoots, video creative, and helping to also design covers and packaging for those artists.
• This is a design position taking projects from concept to completion. Projects could include: sales collateral, logos, apparel/merchandise, and point of sales marketing pieces, video and editing.
• Create designs that align with the artist's vision while also attracting and retaining loyal customers to achieve the company's growth plans and financial objectives.
• Developing creative partnerships with artists and their representatives while taking a comprehensive approach to their long-term development through their merchandise.
• Help establish break-through artist strategy which includes website look and feel, product line, product placement, and online content to drive revenue and be consistent with and enhance each artist's image.
• Execute Ultra's strategic vision and make sure it stays aligned with project strategy, market trends and fan's needs.
• Identify and leverage third party vendors to design and create cost effective yet up to par content and artwork.
• Build and sustain solid, collaborative working relationships across Ultra and Sony's Departments.
Who you are:
• Creative skills should include 7 years of design and visual graphics work.
• Experience in leading a creative team.
• An intimate understanding of conceptualization, designing and production.
• Ability to create compelling, inspiring product that differentiates Ultra in the market.
• Must be an enthusiastic team member comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Previous experience in the music industry preferred.
• Experience with a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.
