This is a Full Time Job
As the Sample Licensing Analyst you will report to the VP, BA Admin:
What you'll do:
• Evaluate and accurately identify samples uses as embodied in artist recordings across various genres and labels.
• Report identified samples, providing detailed information on how the source materials are used in SME's new recordings.
• Assist in tracking upcoming releases related to samples and other third-party materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather the necessary information related to sample clearances.
• Maintain and update databases, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
• Support the preparation and distribution of clearance status reports to relevant teams, including royalties and Sony Music’s document retention system.
• Provide administrative support in coordinating internal and external approvals related to sample clearances.
Who you are:
• Bachelor’s degree in music business, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in music licensing, copyright law, or related roles, preferably with a focus on sample clearance.
• Basic understanding of music licensing, copyright law, and clearance processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with music industry software and databases.
