As a Specialist, National Promotion & Content, you will have the opportunity to utilize your exceptional communication skills to support the Sony Music Nashville roster of artists by proactively promoting airplay and maximizing exposure and consumption. You will have impact across the business by serving as a conduit for communication and information flow between SMN promotion, A&R, and marketing staffs, release planning & production, contributing to single and album launch plans, managing relationships with national radio partners, and planning and executing promotion events.
What you'll do:
• Develop and implement airplay exposure strategies for SMN artists
• Solicit, compile, capture, edit, transcribe, internally deliver content for national radio & marketing partners:
• Maintain department content documentation
• Assist with on-site artist content captures
• Use skill and knowledge of digital audio editing, video editing/production software, and various broadcasting technologies to record and complete post-production editing
• Maintain Sony Prep Site uploading imprint specific content for use in weekly audio /video and streaming content e-blasts to radio & marketing/media clients
• Assist with department invoices/budgeting as needed for content purposes
• Assist with syndicated artist interviews including on-site visits, satellite tours, radio remotes video calls, round tables, etc.
• Provide administrative support to SVP, Promotion including organizing and scheduling appointments and meetings, managing calendars, maintaining department contact lists, submitting and reconciling expense reports, etc.
• Provide support for regionals including traveling to multiple markets to cover shows, attending events and managing on-site promotions, aiding interviews and meet-n-greets at artist's shows, and facilitating giveaways
Who you are:
• An industry professional with a working knowledge of the music industry and/or country radio promotion (generally gained through 2 years of experience working with artists and/or management)
• A content expert with demonstrated skill to create and produce/edit entertainment content in both audio and video format and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe suite (specifically Premiere Pro Audition)
• A results-driven individual with demonstrated organizational skills and focus on attention to detail
• A problem solver with strong creative and strategic skills and sound editorial judgement
• An initiator with a drive for accuracy, time management, and task prioritization in administrative functions
• A continued learner with experience reading, interpreting, and operating Mediabase airplay systems
• A collaborator with a proven ability to maintain constructive working relationships with others and ability to adapt behavior to meet expectations and needs of different audiences
• A team player willing to work nights, weekends and travel as needed (approximately 1-2 times per month)
