Sony Music Entertainment is currently accepting inquiries and resumes for the recording studio and content hub manager position. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to keep our team of technicians and employees, as well as our studio space, operating at a professional level. The studio's success will count on the studio manager's understanding of the unique demands of each session. We look to hire an individual with strong interpersonal skills who is flexible and capable to meet with the demands of the technology and client interface.
What you'll do:
• Maintain functionality of the studio space for daily use
• Hire and manage studio personnel, including but not limited to security, engineers, freelance runners, other creative and technical staff
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure facility is in compliance with Health and Safety Standards; document condition and any needed updates or repairs
• Assist with studio branding and marketing activities
• Assist with scheduling and facilitating the Sony Global Studio Committee meeting with other Sony locations
• Maintain calendar for use of studio space, including managing requests for booking sessions and equipment
• Manage the studio budget (facility and equipment) and oversee all accounting operations and invoicing. This includes sending, tracking and reconciling invoices with clients, vendors, technicians and additional studio-related operations and services
• Prepare and distribute all reports including but not limited to, session reports, utilization reports and variance reports
• Responsible for maintaining all equipment within the studio, including establishing a schedule for regular maintenance, managing repairs, ordering replacements, and overseeing upgrades of studio equipment
• Responsible for tracking and maintaining the equipment inventory report
• Coordinate outside equipment rental
• Assist with other related ad-hoc requests and projects as needed
Who you are:
• BA/BS in Recording Arts, Communications, Business; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 – 5 years relevant experience; previous studio experience, both managerial and technical, preferred
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing scheduled and budgets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starting, resourceful collaborator with strong ability to identify problems and create solutions
• Detail oriented and strong follow-through skills
• Proficient in Microsoft suite
• Familiarity with studio equipment and knowledge of new music technology, equipment and trends a plus
• Flexible and able to accommodate spontaneous changes to schedules and routines
• Must be able to lift equipment as needed
