Artist Management Trainee, Sony Pictures Animation - Summer 2022
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Professional Trainee program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. Trainees will work remotely with the potential of working in the office location at a later time. This Summer/Fall Professional Trainee position is from May/June (may start ASAP if the applicant is available) through December 16th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
Sony Pictures Animation (SPA) produces a variety of animated entertainment for audiences around the world. The visually groundbreaking and critically acclaimed "Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse" is the studio's latest release, and the winner of the 2019 Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature. The division is also behind hit film series such as "The Mitchells vs. the Machines'' and the studio's first-ever animated musical "Vivo," featuring original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Sony Pictures Animation, which was founded in 2002, is a division of the Sony Pictures Motion Pictures Group for Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Tokyo-based Sony Corporation.
The Artist Management Trainee position partners with SPA Production Management, Technology, HR, Facilities, and Artistic Recruitment to foster a working environment that supports the creative process.
Responsibilities:
• Supports the Artist Management department in all aspects of production crewing and scheduling
• Assists the Artist Management department with requests relating to artistic casting and production needs
• Acts as lead for new employee onboarding, including creation of Sony ID, obtaining badge, workspace setup, and new hire tickets.
• Partners across departments to ensure seamless onboarding and a positive first-day experience.
• Maintains updated portfolio links for in-house talent.
• Maintains SPA ASIFA list
• Fields artist and production inquires across multiple departments and partners with Facilities, Operations, HR, and Technology to escalate issues when appropriate
Required Skills:
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Keynote & Photoshop)
• MAC proficient
• Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize, ensuring all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Must be flexible – an ability to work in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
• Must be a self-starter with a team-player attitude
Required Experience:
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in Production, preferably in an animation environment or related field (internships included)
