Job Title: Manager, Advertiser Services
Role Summary:
The Manager, Advertiser Services acts as a service provider to SPT's 3rd Party advertising sales partner, Discovery Communications, in the assigned territory as well as Sony Owned and Operated Sales offices for LATAM. This role involves leading discussions directly driving revenue-generating opportunities in the Market, specifically in Mexico. The Manager handles all communication and direct negotiations with 3rd parties regarding linear and digital packages tied to Network IP. They will develop commercial packages, price digital packages, negotiate with 3rd party resellers (e.g., Google), and accompany the sales team in presenting offers to advertisers directly.
Key responsibilities include generating opportunities, participating in pitching revenue projects, providing accurate and timely advertiser-relevant information, and alerting the sales team of inventory situations and ordering issues. The Manager is also responsible for communicating key programming changes, heightening awareness of SPT offers, and facilitating all required post-sales coordination of buys. This role provides sales strategy to Marketing B2B regarding tentpole focus, messaging, and activations to generate ROI on agency spends. The Manager reports directly to the Vice President, Advertiser Sales Services based in Miami while supporting the Content Service Manager based in their territory. This position will closely collaborate with internal SPT departments such as Creative Services, Traffic Operations, Channel Operations, Finance, Trade Marketing, and IT.
Core Responsibilities:
• 80% Ad Sales Office Strategy and Revenue Generation:
- Develop sales packages, proposed pricing, and negotiate with 3rd party partners for potential revenue-generating opportunities.
- Actively participate in sales negotiations and processes, ensuring closed deals are executed properly.
- Provide day-to-day reactive and proactive support to assigned sales offices.
- Educate sales teams regarding SPT opportunities that lead to selling success.
- Provide strategy for B2B activations driving advertiser investment.
• 20% Channel Activity Understanding and Promotion:
- Stay current with the properties, covering content to operations.
- Maintain competency on tools required for the role and understand all relevant processes and procedures.
- Proactively support promoting opportunities to relevant audiences through package development.
Preferred Education:
• BA or BS degree in Communication, Marketing, Advertising, or related area.
Knowledge:
• Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Pay TV, Digital, and Advertising Marketplace.
• Solid knowledge of the industry, changing business dynamics, and direct relationships with key agency leaders and advertisers.
• In-depth selling know-how, including proposal building, negotiations, conflicts, and service partners or teams for success.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with clients/prospects, colleagues, and vendors.
Requirements:
• 5+ years specialty in entertainment.
• 5+ years managerial experience.
