THE ROLE
We are looking for a Production Accountant Assistant to provide financial support and analysis for Sharp Entertainment. Reporting to the Director of Production Accounting, the Jr. Production Accountant will work out of our New York office and will be responsible for assisting in financial and accounting functions related to production inclusive of production accounts payable and payroll processing, general accounting, and ad-hoc analysis. The Jr. Production Accountant will work directly with the Production Executives, Producers, Production Managers, and Coordinators, as well as with vendors, clients, Finance Management, and Business Affairs.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Sharp Accounting Department in managing all financial aspects of production accounting including auditing and entering Petty Cash, PCard, and Amex Reports, cutting checks, and setting up bank wires.
• Processing payroll and accounts payable.
• Prepare reports for production.
• Review weekly reports for accuracy and make reclassifications as required.
• Review invoices, petty cash, procurement card expenses, travel authorizations, etc.
• Prepare audit backup to support all show expenditures as needed.
• Audit production timecards.
• Labor tracking.
• Perform complex financial analysis on an as-needed basis.
• Additional production-related accounting functions as requested by Finance Management.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data into concise and informative reports for Sr. Management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred.
• Production Accounting experience
• Entertainment Industry experience and knowledge of studio environment
• Advanced MS Excel/Access knowledge.
• Working knowledge of TV production and TV production accounting.
• Strong accounting/audit knowledge.
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience working in an entertainment company or for entertainment clients, preferably TV production accounting.
• Strong follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely completion.
• Ability to perform tasks with reasonable independence.
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Detail-oriented; strong organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $70,000-$75,000 a year (non-exempt, eligible for overtime). This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
