We are excited to be expanding the Production HR team at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). Our Production HR team is at the forefront of our business, supporting SPE production companies / Joint Ventures and their productions within the UK, EMEA and further afield. Support extends across scripted and non-scripted, Original Series and Motion Pictures as well as inbound productions from the US, filming in region.

Production HR provide initiatives and partnership to leaders, managers and teams within production companies and their productions, advocating for respectful and inclusive environments and supporting learning and development within this exciting space. For productions, our partnership extends across the whole production lifecycle, from the development stages of a project, throughout filming and onto it's release.
To be successful in this role, you will be flexible and a creative thinker, comfortable operating within the 'grey' that often arises working with fast paced and non-traditional creative and production teams. Our production companies and productions are entities and ecosystems of their own, so the comfort to pivot at a moment's notice and ability to build credible relationships quickly, will be key.
Reporting to the Executive Director, HR – Production, this role will be based from our London HQ in Paddington, with visits to production companies and productions within the UK and elsewhere, where necessary. The role will work very closely with SPE's fantastic Learning & Development (L&D) team, as well as the wider HR function including Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Legal and Labour. Building relations with internal SPE partners including Production, Safety, Security, IT, Infosec, Finance and Business Affairs, will also be key in providing exceptional support to our production stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Training coordination, support and delivery:
• Coordination of SPE's Spotlight on Respect (SOR) sessions, reviewing production schedules and liaising with production teams on availability of Cast, Directors, Heads of Department and crew.
• Creation and management of invites for both in person and online training sessions with production companies and productions. Coordinate training schedules, booking rooms, working with Front of House and IT to make necessary arrangements for sessions to take place whether that be in-person, hybrid or virtual.
• Support with facilitation / delivery of training sessions (specifically SOR) with Executive Director, HR - Production, to our TV and Film productions, including cast, crew, and leadership
• Prepare course materials, handouts, and presentations as needed.
• Generate reports on training participation, completion rates, and effectiveness.
• Assist in analysing training data to identify areas for improvement and inform learning and development recommendations for focus / strategy.
• Coordinate post-training activities like evaluation surveys and feedback collection.
Employee Relations (ER):
• Assist in providing support / advice on routine to moderately complex ER matters in consultation with and at the direction of the Executive Director and SVP, along with Labor Relations for investigations relating to harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation, and other areas.
• Assist with coordination and administration of any redundancy process, including preparing documentation, keeping track of important dates/meetings/numbers during the process, interface with payroll and checking the return of company assets.
• Manage accommodation request applications, including organising meetings, preparing the documentation and assisting in or conducting the meetings, track cases, diarising review periods and partnering with external access support, where required.
• Advise and assist on maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave in line with handbook / policy guidance.
• Management and support relating to sickness and absence in line with handbook / policy guidance.
• Management and logging of ER case information, issue trend data and provide actionable feedback to legal, HR and senior leaders to reduce overall risk as well as identifying educational and development areas for focus.
Tools and Support Resources:
• Working closely with the L&D and inclusion team in creation and distribution of L&D/ inclusion newsletters for the production companies and productions.
• Creation and manage suite of information and learning documents to support to key HR practices and training for production companies and productions.
• General ad hoc project-based work.
Data Management:
• Manage and update production company employee and compensation data to ensure data is correct and credible.
• Maintain HR records and filing for Production companies.
• Execute on Data Protection Activity and updates in legislation.
• Track trends in ER and compensation and benefits data.
Industry Knowledge:
• Keeping abreast of industry trends and knowledge in consideration to apply to our practices and support tools.
• Inquisitive of industry discussion, groups and forums.
Experience Required:
• Preferably 5+ years' experience of working at an HR Manager/ HRBP level in Production environment, either within a Studio, broadcaster or the entertainment and creative industry.
• Demonstrable experience of dealing with ER concerns and investigations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a diverse, fast paced, team environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees, managers, production teams and external vendors, able communicate confidently, succinctly and logically both verbally and in writing
• The ability to work with diverse audiences and cultures, adapting style in order to effectively communicate.
• Must have experience of facilitating training sessions with employees.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Canva.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• A collaborative style with the ability to influence others into action and to think creatively about solutions.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a professional & customer-focused manner.
• A keen interest in film, tv and storytelling.
