Sr. Manager, Net Ops
GSN is looking for a dynamic, experienced, motivated, detailed-oriented and energetic Senior Manager, Network Operations.
You will manage an experienced team to support our Network Operations department, content operations and library services to ensure that our linear television networks and online platforms including fast channel and video-on-demand air flawlessly and are accessible at all times.
Your primary responsibilities are as follows:
• Provide supervision, support and development of one Manager, Network Operations, four Content Specialists including one Lead Specialist, and two Network Operations Freelancers (e.g. Ingest and QC Screener).
• Manage network content prep process and asset delivery workflows across a subset of multiple digital asset management operations functions to ensure all materials are ready for broadcast, fast channel and video-on-demand 3-4 weeks in advance and ultimate distribution to various OTT and vMVPD platforms.
• Manage multiple digital asset delivery workflows of a large quantity of network content daily prioritizing assets that have been scheduled on-air and VOD program runtimes.
• Consistently check asset missing media lists and send any missing media to Comcast/Globecast playout facilities.
• Manage delivery of graphic placement timings and squeezebacks
• Manage multiple daily requests for access to GSN assets, including status and content prep of newly delivered air masters from program providers
• Manage physical GSN Vault (tape library) keeping it organized and accessible while avoiding tape overflow. Manage the GSN inventory of physical assets in 3rd party storage houses.
• Provide support and guidance for Network Operations team including screening assignments 3-4 weeks ahead of broadcast, fast channel and VOD schedules.
• Typically coordinate and liaise across SPT and GSN network teams and with external vendors, particularly network playout vendors, Sony Panama edit team, and local postproduction houses to ensure that network assets are never delayed. Manage teams that conduct functional operations in support of new projects.
• Prioritize a large number of content prep related emails mostly from NetOps, Comcast, Sony Panama and Globecast teams. Troubleshoot and help to resolve multiple content operations issues affecting linear air and disaster recovery services.
• Consistently assist Net Ops team with resolving a wide variety of content prep issues (e.g. video, audio, captions, timing, file transfers, etc.).
• Write and execute a significant number of content prep orders for linear broadcast (e.g. time machine, light editing), VOD weekly orders, Syndication and Fast Channel Refresh orders mostly for the Sony Panama team. Supervise and track with vendors the workflow of these orders from start to finish.
• Manage Sony Media Centre (MCM) onboarding process from start to finish for new Program Providers and Recipients.
• Manage Title Registration Requests process with SPE Data Management team and GSN Finance.
• Create contract codes in TLS for new GSN original shows and acquisitions and notify programming and Net Ops.
• Send requests to NetOps team to batch create barcodes for all series 3-4 weeks in advance.
• Supervise SPE AP vendor payment process in the Arriba system by sending these invoices to the SPE AP Invoices team at the studio and SPE AP Philippines. You will be responsible as the First Approver of all SPE AP processed invoices for payment. This SPE AP process involves consistently troubleshooting payment issues with assistance from Net Ops Manager and Net Ops Lead Specialist while ensuring that all invoices are paid on time.
• Report all TLS system trouble issues to Global Service Desk (GSD) and Sony Media Centre (MCM) trouble issues to MCM Support team and GSD and follow-up on resolution response times.
• Reach out to technical support when the Telestream Pipeline Ingest system and workstations go down and when the aircheck orders system fails. Follow-up on resolution response times.
• Constantly ensure that our Qumulo server folders are organized with appropriate naming conventions. Create new folders for new projects as they come in.
• Write and consistently update Standard Operating Procedures for Network Operations team including cross-training new hires and other duties as assigned.
• Backfill Manager, Network Operations and Content Lead Specialist for vacations, floater days and sick days.
• Backfill Director of Technical Operations weekly Sony Pictures Entertainment UKG Net Ops payroll never missing payroll deadlines.
• Backfill Director of Technical Operations for out of office days such as vacations, floater days and sick days.
• Work closely with the Director of Technical Operations to ensure that ongoing training and development of direct reports is scheduled and properly completed including SPE People & Organization annual mandatory classes, as needed.

Experience Qualifications:
Required Minimum: The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience in broadcast/cable quality control, master control, media library/vault, content operations, postproduction/production or editing related field. 5-7 years experience managing an operations team in a linear broadcast and online digital platform environment. In addition, strong PC skills, media asset management system background and a bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited university.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,000 to $120,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
