This is a Full Time Job
Sourcing Journal Media is looking for a Senior Editor, News & Events to assist the editor in chief with the day-to-day running of the newsroom, as well as spearhead management of three annual events. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience covering the related industries of sourcing and apparel with a B2B background preferred. Candidate must be a self-starter, and a curious and inquisitive critical thinker. Must be extremely comfortable and proficient in a digital publishing environment, as well as able to oversee the execution of multipronged, high-revenue events.
Responsibilities
include:
• Writing, editing and publishing content for the website and printed reports
• Collaborate with the EIC to execute regular content for daily publication
• Responsible for overseeing all project management related to events
• Cultivate relationships with industry executives to use for speakers at events
• Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on event programs
• Oversee program ideation, planning, project timelines, run of show and program execution
• Liaise with the events team on all event logistics and the editorial team on programming related needs
• Attend events on behalf of the company as needed
Requirements:
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
• Experience working with editorial, sales, creative and marketing teams
• Excellent project management
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve
• Strategic and analytical thinker with excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Flexible, self-motivated individual with an appetite to work in an entrepreneurial environment
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multitask
