Job Purpose
The Marketing Automation Manager oversees the company's marketing automation, connected apps, and systematic emails.
Duties & responsibilities
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Create and manage SXSW's proprietary HubSpot assets, including email templates, API connections, landing pages, conversion paths, nurture sequences, automated workflows, calls-to-action, systematic emails, lead forms, etc
• Help execute marketing, systematic, and other email assets
• Manage the segmenting, growing, and purging of contacts within SXSW's email lists
• Help develop executable strategies in the email channel, with a focus on email sequences and workflows
• Work closely with the Communications, Content, and Sales departments to produce and optimize new campaigns, campaign content, and landing pages while maintaining consistent messaging, design, and brand voice.
• Collaborate with the paid advertising team to create customer segments via Hubspot.
• Stay up-to-date with HubSpot tools and ensure GDPR/CCPA compliance
• Monitor and maintain data quality within customer and marketing databases
• Coordinate with multiple project managers in various departments on Hubspot-based assets
• Assist with the development/sending of emails and press releases with the email marketing manager
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strategy & Insights
On-Site Responsibilities
In addition to routine responsibilities, the Marketing Automation Manager will be expected to stay in a company-provided downtown hotel, must be available to liaise with the Tech Departments to maintain operations, and work shifts during evening hours monitoring event social media.
Qualificationsand Skills
Qualifications
include:
• Marketing BA/BS Degree or related degree
• Three years managing HubSpot or similar marketing platforms is preferred
• HTML5/CSS with a focus on developing emails
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to map systems and decision trees, I.E., Lucidcharts
• Strong communication skills, including copywriting and grammar skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent analytical skills
• Team player with a collaborative spirit
• Resourceful and adaptable
• Tenacious and unflappable in high-pressure situations
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard, computer, and office equipment use. Ability to lift and move 20lb with or without accommodation.
Work Location & Schedule
The position is located in Austin, Texas, but the candidate must be able to travel for business as necessary. Core business office hours are from 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. The candidate must also be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends.
