This is a Full Time Job
The St. Louis Cardinals are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our growing Business Analytics team. This person will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights to support decision-making across departments. The ideal candidate is proficient in SQL, comfortable working in R, and experienced in building dashboards and maintaining data pipelines.
Job Duties:
• Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to visualize trends and performance metrics.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources.
• Use R (or Python) for data cleaning, statistical analysis, and building reporting workflows.
• Ensure data quality and consistency by developing validation processes and maintaining data documentation.
• Assist in building and optimizing data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
• Present findings in clear, compelling ways through reports, presentations, or visualizations.
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Analytics, or related discipline including May 2025 graduates
• Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Familiarity with dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Experience with R (preferred) or Python for analysis and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator, able to convey complex data in a business-friendly way.
Education/Experience Preferred:
• 1-2 years of professional experience in a data analyst or similar role
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, GCP, Posit).
• Knowledge of data warehouse design and ETL concepts.
• Passion for sports and/or baseball
