POSITION OVERVIEW
The Festival Liaison, Public Relations is charged with managing publicity and artist team relationships for films, events, artists, and Institute programs being showcased at the Sundance Film Festival. Managing a selection of assigned films and projects, this position will be the main publicity touch point between all film and project teams and internal departments, both leading up to and onsite at the Festival. This includes facilitating key assets workflow, handling all incoming publicity related inquiries, and coordinating with media on coverage of the Festival curated programs as needed, among other responsibilities.
Working closely under the direction of the Senior Manager, Communications, the Festival Liaison supports Sundance Institute's commitment to artists and is part of furthering awareness, relevance, and impact of our mission.
This temporary position works full time from Wednesday, November 2, 2022 through Tuesday, January 31, 2023 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position is based out of our Park City, Utah office and will be expected to perform onsite work duties as of Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Employees may start in a commutable distance to Park City, UT or remotely from a state we currently legally operate in, until the required onsite work date listed above.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Liaising with publicity, film, and artist teams to compile publicity information, maintain the Festival database, and share with other departments as needed.
• Drafting media materials and project communications and information.
• Providing information, interviews, and other resources and receiving and routing inbound requests from media.
• Tracking media coverage and screening reports for assigned films and artists.
• Informing assigned external teams of updates and key details related to their film/project.
• Organizing and managing press onsite participation at assigned events, including press lines and photo calls.
• Securing materials needed to publicize assigned films and events.
• Participating directly in media outreach on the program themes.
• Completing a comprehensive written wrap report.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years experience in public relations, media relations, or special event publicity.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products preferred.
• Experience with large event public relations and knowledge of film and the film industry preferred.
