Associate Production Manager

Symphony Space is seeking an experienced Associate Production Manager (APM) to join a team dedicated to producing the highest quality in-house and rental productions. Working collaboratively and creatively across all programming areas of Symphony Space and with our body of long standing and new renters, the APM joins a department of four full time production staff, supplemented by over-hires and specialty technicians. The Production Department works as a closely knit team with a seamless hand-off of responsibilities, built upon our confidence and trust in each other's commitment to providing first rate professional service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• As part of the Production team, provide Production support for in-house events including stage setup, basic lighting and sound, and archival recording.
• Act as Technical Advisor for rental events.
• Maintain Symphony Space owned Production equipment.
• Assure that stage and backstage areas are well organized and in compliance with NYC codes.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Head of Production.

SKILLS AND TRAITS

- Demonstrated production management or technical direction experience in an arts presenting organization.
- Experience in the basic operation of ETC lighting consoles and Yamaha audio consoles.
- Familiarity with Vmix and PTZ video systems is a plus.
- Comfortable working at heights and performing light lifting.
- Service oriented; collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working with a variety of programmers and changing needs; can-do attitude.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
