Reporting to the Head of Production, the Assistant Producer assists with all duties related to execution and delivery of TV broadcast commercials.
Responsibilities:
o Assist in creation of production schedule and project timelines.
o Schedule and attend all production/creative review meetings. Responsible for distribution of notes/recap to entire team.
o Create estimates and revisions to estimates, based on bids from various vendors to send to client for approval.
o Assist in communications with all vendors, review bids and estimates as appropriate.
o Issue PO's and submit invoices from vendors for proper payment.
o Take notes on all meetings, shoots, and edits and re-cap for team. Track creative and technical details and information to share with team as needed.
o Assists producer with Business Affairs issues-learn and gain experience with legal parameters, music licensing, budget oversight and talent guidelines.
o Responsible for QC/delivery of tapes to stations for air, in multiple broadcast formats including: D5, HDCam, Beta SP, DigiBeta, DVCam.
o Complete and file completion reports for all projects. Create production binders at completion of job logging all essential production documents, organized based on each production category.
o Seek out information and resources in a variety of disciplines including directors, editors, special effects, stylists, graphic designers, composers, and sound designers. Keep abreast of trends and innovations within the broadcast and advertising industries.
o Oversee test shoots, edits, and various sessions.
o Build relationships with Creative Team and Account Team. Anticipates needs within project parameters.
o Develop sufficient production knowledge to eventually handle smaller, simpler productions.
Requirements:
• 1-2 years experience in production-either agency or production company.
• Familiarity with the work flow of various post production facilities including: editorial, sound/mix, animation/vfx, online/flame
• Familiarity with multiple broadcast formats and problems that may arise.
• Strong ability to multi-task.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organized, efficient, calm, and quick thinking.
