• Salary: $70,000 - $105,000
• Workplace Requirements: Based in Fort Lee, NJ/New York, NY; able to work evenings, weekends, holidays
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in newsgathering/production
• Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience
• Hard Skills Required: Writing, desktop editing, content gathering, bilingual (English and Spanish), knowledge of media platforms
• Soft Skills Required: Creativity, ability to work under pressure, decision-making, urgency
• Preferred Skills/Experience: Field production, interviewing, story prioritization

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with EPs, Show Producers, Anchors, Reporters, and Assignment Editors to write news content, including headlines, teasers, news briefs, anchor intros, and lead-ins
• Write, desktop edit, and gather content for all WNJU platforms, including newscasts and digital
• Produce under tight deadlines while maintaining credibility
• Enhance stories visually using graphic programs
• Stay on top of news events and find compelling video/pictures using social media tools
• Work closely with the WNJU team to ensure fair and accurate local news coverage
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news situations
• Attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas
• Follow Telemundo News standards and ethics

Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in newsgathering/production
• Proficiency in writing, producing, and using desktop editing systems
• Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English
• Knowledge of various media platforms (broadcast, web, mobile)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience
