The Vice President of Casting, Unscripted Production is a key player in the success of Telemundo Entertainment's projects. This executive will lead all aspects of the casting process for Unscripted Productions, identifying and selecting talent that aligns with the creative vision and contributes to the success of the projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in casting for television and digital media, with a deep understanding of industry trends and talent networks.
Role & Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
• Develop and implement casting strategies aligned with the company’s creative and business goals.
• Lead and manage the casting team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior executives, directors, and producers to understand project requirements and casting needs.
Talent Acquisition:
• Identify, evaluate, and secure top talent across film, television, and digital platforms.
• Build strong relationships with agents, managers, and other industry professionals.
• Conduct auditions, interviews, and screen tests to assess talent.
Project Management:
• Oversee the casting process from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
• Manage casting budgets and negotiate contracts with talent and their representatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Industry Insight and Networking:
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging talent, and competitive casting practices.
• Attend industry events and showcases to scout new talent and expand networks.
• Represent Telemundo in external meetings, conferences, and forums.
Innovation and Improvement:
• Seek innovative casting approaches to enhance the talent pool.
• Implement best practices and technologies to streamline the casting process.
Casting Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with the executive team to understand character needs.
• Brainstorm potential talent, considering emotional and physical characteristics for all shows and pilots.
• Oversee the coordination of casting schedules on platforms like Casting Networks.
• Supervise casting strategy, talent requests, and casting presentations.
• Work closely with the production team and HR to address any talent-related issues.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Entertainment or Television industry, including 5 years at the executive level.
• Experience working with talent agents and managers in U.S. Hispanic and international talent markets.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish.
