Associate Editor

The Hollywood Reporter is seeking an associate editor with a passion for the entertainment industry to aggregate, write, edit and publish news content for THR's dynamic, award-winning website, THR.com, as well as the brand's social media platforms.

The Associate Editor will work in the newsroom, helping to identify, advance and curate breaking entertainment and viral news stories, as well as aggregate from other authoritative sources and edit stories from staff and freelance reporters. The associate editor will also produce original content and build sources. They will also curate the homepage for THR.com, and post content on social media platforms. The associate editor will work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule. But it's possible that those hours/days might shift based on news and staffing needs. Flexibility and willingness to work in a 24/7 news cycle is required. This position is open to candidates based in Los Angeles.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• 1-2 years' experience writing and editing for a digital media site, magazine or newspaper
• Excellent news judgment and editing skills
• Familiarity with CMS publishing and web production, and understanding of SEO
• Experience curating content for social media platforms
• Experience with photo editing tools; video editing experience a plus
• Team player with positive, proactive, problem-solving attitude
• Ability to work late nights and weekend news shifts, and work in a 24/7 news cycle.

As THR values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Salary: $68,750k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
