The Hollywood Reporter is seeking an Newswriter with a passion for the entertainment industry to aggregate, write, edit and publish news content for THR’s dynamic, award-winning website, THR.com, as well as the brand’s social media platforms.
The Newswriter will work in the newsroom, helping to identify, advance and curate breaking entertainment and viral news stories, as well as aggregate from other authoritative sources, and may occasionally assist with the editing of stories from staff and freelance reporters. The newswriter will also produce original content and build sources. They will also curate the homepage for THR.com, and post content on social media platforms.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Three years' experience writing and editing for a digital media site, magazine or newspaper
• Excellent news judgment and editing skills
• Familiarity with CMS publishing and web production, and understanding of SEO
• Experience curating content for social media platforms
• Experience with photo editing tools; video editing experience a plus
• Team player with positive, proactive, problem-solving attitude
• Ability to work late nights and weekend news shifts, and work in a 24/7 news cycle.
