This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Hollywood Reporter is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, enthusiastic intern, who is eager to learn about all facets of the entertainment industry, to join our fast-paced newsroom.
Daily responsibilities primarily involve writing news stories and creating other editorial content, with opportunities to pitch stories to staff editors, attend editorial meetings and contribute to a wide range of projects, including working with the social media and other teams. Interns who prove themselves will have the opportunity to cover various industry events.
You will get to work alongside some of the best editors and writers in the business. You also will learn how a newsroom operates while being mentored and trained to be a working journalist as well as the ins and outs of Hollywood and what goes into reporting on the industry.
The ideal candidate will be a college student with newswriting experience, either through a college program or previous internship; knowledge of the entertainment industry, from film to TV to awards and beyond; stellar reporting skills; creative ideas for pitches; the ability to learn quickly and write under tight deadlines; and be technologically proficient.
This is a paid 12-week internship, up to 30 hours per week. Applicants must be full-time students in the Los Angeles area working towards a college or graduate degree, who are able to commit to working in the THR office.
Please include a cover letter, resume and links to 2-3 writing samples or clips in your application.
This Internship pays $16.50 per hour.
