Basketball Communications Associate – Oklahoma City Thunder (2024-25 NBA Season)
We're seeking individuals passionate about pursuing a career in public relations within professional sports! As a Basketball Communications Associate, you'll assist the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Basketball Communications team and the media throughout the 2024-25 NBA season. This part-time, seasonal role is a great entry-level opportunity to work in the fast-paced environment of professional sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Thunder press room before, during, and after home games.
- Obtain quotes from players and coaches post-game.
- Assist local and national media with inquiries in accordance with company policies.
- Attend press conferences and transcribe select media events throughout the season.
- Assist with game-day arena setup, requiring availability from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on game days.
- Assemble media and visiting team packets; deliver media credentials to visiting team hotels before home games.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- General knowledge of the NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and ambitious.
Additional Details:
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for occasional travel.
- Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays for over 30 game nights and events.
- Primary work locations are the Paycom Center and the Thunder ION in Oklahoma City.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Senior Basketball Communications Lead. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
