This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Oklahoma City Thunder's Community Engagement department is seeking a student for our Spring 2025 internship! As an intern, you will provide administrative support to the CE team and assist with activities such as charitable donations, fostering relationships with community partners and beneficiaries, and event planning and execution.
Spring internships begin January 13, 2025. Our internship program provides practical work experience in a professional environment as well as supplemental program activities such as resume reviews, personal and professional development workshops and other events crafted to enrich the internship experience. We also offer perks such as paid downtown parking and tickets to a home game during the season!
In this role you will:
• Coordinate and fulfill community requests, including donations
• Enter and update donations and inventory in Excel databases
• Help organize the Rolling Thunder Book Bus visits at schools and other locations
• Maintain Thunder educational programs' mailings and database updates
• Assist in game-night activities such as auctions, raffles, and fundraisers
• Collaborate with CE and other departments to plan and implement event details, including set-up, guest communication, check-ins, and post-event cleanup
• Load and drive the department van with event supplies to various locations
• Maintain supplies and inventory at both arena and off-site storage locations
• Participate in scheduled internship program activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll bring to the role:
• Presently enrolled in an accredited university and approved by your school to receive internship credit
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to see projects through completion
• Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks, while working collaboratively with others
Additional details:
This is a paid, in-person internship position reporting to the Community Engagement Events & Outreach Manager and Community Relations Programs Manager. The work schedule will be 15-29 office hours as well as events and game-night duties, which may take place during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location will be the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The internship will involve in-arena activities with exposure to loud music, crowd noise, and flashing lights. Events may take place in both indoor and outdoor venues with varying temperatures. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary for occasional local travel. Physical demands include bending, standing, or walking for extended periods, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
