This is a Freelance Unpaid Internship
Internship Start Date/Season: 11/9/24
Internship Duration: One Day (with one day extra day of a walk-through to go over everything)
This is a great way to meet industry professionals, make great connections, and spruce up your resume! We can also provide Reference Letters when the event is over. We will also help word your resume to include this experience!
Time/Days Required: Saturday, November 9th (8am-3pm, 3pm-10:30pm, or all day with lunch provided and breaks)
Workplace Requirements: 18 or over. Ideally any local volunteers from NY or NJ that have studied in Acting, Film, Gaming, Television, and any Entertainment Majors. We can also train.
Below is a list of assignments-- Not to worry-- there will be a leader for each section and you will be paired off so you will never be alone. We will also have a meeting beforehand to run through each role. You can volunteer the whole day or a shift that works for your schedule. You will have breaks where you can go and enjoy the event. Lunch and dinner will also be provided!
Event Host: Work the information table, walk around the expo area ready to answer any questions from patrons (we will give you all information beforehand), assist at the check-in table (dispense badges, etc)
Facilities Crew: Assist with setting up and tearing down tables, chairs and signage at the beginning and end of the event
Fan Experiences (Green Screen and V.R.): Help patrons take photos/videos/gifs with a provided laptop, make sure the line for guests who are waiting remains intact, etc.
Production Assistant: Work in conjunction with Theater Ushers, announce beginning and end of each film block, ensure that film blocks/panels are playing in proper order and on time, give ushers updates on schedule (running late, which film block is playing, etc), make sure the chairs are set up, removed when the panels are over so that we can continue with the screenings
Talent Hospitality: Ensure talent is where they are supposed to be-- Expo Area for autograph sessions, Theaters for panels and seminars (schedules to be provided to you)
Theater Usher: Be available outside each theater and allow patrons in for each screening, accommodate Production Assistants, help with seating for the Awards Show
Floater: 'Float' in between any of the posts mentioned above, as needed
