Job Title: Disney Lawyers in Film Training (D-LIFT) Program, 2025
Position Summary:
The D-LIFT Program is an entry-level initiative designed to provide law school graduates with hands-on experience in motion picture development and production. Participants will work with legal teams at Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and more. The program includes mentorship, leadership development, and direct involvement in legal matters supporting Studios.
Program Structure:
• June 2025 – August 2025 (Part-time, Remote):
Participants will engage in virtual studio sessions and mentoring while preparing for the July 2025 CA Bar Exam. The period ends with a two-week full-time in-person intensive training program.
• September 2025 – November 2025 (Full-time, In-person):
Participants work full-time while awaiting the results of the July 2025 CA Bar Exam. Responsibilities include legal research, proofreading, drafting, and business development sessions.
• December 2025 – April 2026 (Full-time/Part-time):
Participants who pass the July 2025 CA Bar Exam continue full-time with expanded responsibilities. Others preparing for the February 2026 CA Bar Exam may continue part-time and resume full-time after the exam.
• May 2026 – June 2026 (Full-time, In-person):
Participants who pass the bar exam continue in the program with full-time expanded responsibilities.
Program Benefits:
The program provides participants with unique work and development opportunities to build key legal and leadership skills. Successful participants will be considered for roles within Studios Legal Affairs and The Walt Disney Company.
Basic Qualifications:
• Intend to take the July 2025 CA Bar Exam
• Rising 3L graduating in May/June 2025 from a U.S. ABA-accredited law school
• Relevant experience in a law office or media company (internships included)
• Desire to pursue a career in motion picture production
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage confidential information and handle changing priorities
Eligibility Requirements:
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Available part-time (4 hours/week) from June 2025, then full-time from mid-August 2025 through June 2026
• Must relocate to Los Angeles by August 15, 2025
