About the Role & Team
The Receivables and Controls team partners daily with all the Receivables departments and Financial Reporting teams to acquire and provide information on the health of receivables across the organization, evaluate and implement operational controls, and monitor the timely collection of Foreign Withholding Tax receipts. Additionally, the team provides support to multiple internal partners on the invoicing of miscellaneous accounts.
The efforts of the team contribute to the overall support that the receivables team provides to guests and clients for the lines of business. Come be part of this dynamic team!
What You Will Do
The Financial Accounting Analyst focuses on supporting the processing of monthly end journals, analysis, and reporting. The Analyst participates in the department initiatives supporting the Process & Controls team across all receivable areas supporting Parks and Resorts and the foreign withholding tax for all segments for domestic businesses. It also supports the receivables reporting for internal and external partners.
• Support month-end closing activities including the creation and review of journal entries and reclassifications.
• Create month-end presentations that summarize the results of the financial period.
• Perform month-end receivables risk reserves assessment.
• Support efforts to populate the month-end variance analysis financial reporting templates.
• Perform GL account reconciliations.
• Process refunds as required.
• Identify and document departmental internal and external processes.
• Develop and communicate updates associated with SOX controls.
• Maintain and update KPIs for departments supported.
• Support Diversified Billings
• Provide internal accounting support, as needed.
Required Qualificationsand Skills
• 3+ years of working in Finance or Accounting.
• Proven experience managing projects.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting and internal controls.
• Ability to prepare and present information to support decision-making.
• Strong analytical and writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and develop effective relationships with internal and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate and present operational and financial information and business cases to leadership and executives.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and maintaining department operational metrics
• Proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel.
• Experience in the use of visualization to present information.
• Demonstrated skills to manage multiple initiatives and establish priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage expectations to upper management
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of work experience managing projects and reporting
• Work experience in accounts receivables.
• CPA
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area.
