About the Role & Program
Disney Corporate Creative Resources (DCCR) is a full-service department for special event production, editorial, video, graphic design, new technology development, and communications planning that manages projects on an integrated basis on behalf of internal Disney corporate clients. The Special Events team produces creative and turnkey internal and external-facing events, meetings and conferences on various levels and scale!
If selected for this role you will report to the Director, Special Events & Conference Planning. This is a full time role with approximate dates of January 2025 - June 2025.
What You Will Do
The DCCR Event Intern will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work directly with the team who produces events for corporate partners, employee events as well as events for our D23 Fans!
As an intern you will have work with event producers, project managers, and production partners:
• Communications: Assist in drafting event descriptions and event communications
• Project Management: Coordinate/schedule team meetings, agendas, and note taking. You will support the event producers with budget estimates, budget tracking and financial reconciliation, track production landmarks, and regularly update event documents based on team input. Assist in coordinating event files and archiving information post-event
• Event Support: From assisting with brainstorming new event ideas and location research to creating run-of-show documents, to on-site operations such as interacting with guests and coordinating select areas of operation (e.g., check-in, volunteers, etc.)
• Client Services: assist in scheduling project intake calls with clients, taking notes and identifying action items for follow up
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Ability to work a flexible event schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Knowledge and genuine interest in full portfolio of The Walt Disney Company's past, present and future including films, animation, television and theme parks
• Specific interest in event management/planning, communications, and or event marketing
• Capability to work on multiple projects in a positive, pro-active manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and follow- through skills
• Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
• Demonstrated success partnering with teams and working independently with minimal direction, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Extremely comfortable working in Google Suite, Keynote
• Present a professional business image of excellence through professional dress, written and oral presentations
Preferred Qualifications
• Previously completed an internship within the entertainment industry or experience working in hospitality, event planning, project/program management or marketing/membership
• Advanced writing and editing experience
• Design, event, and production experience
Education
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• A junior, senior or recent graduate with a major or previous coursework in Event or Hospitality Management, Communications, or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
• Candidate should be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
• Able to provide own housing in the Glendale, CA area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the Glendale and greater Los Angeles areas
