Sr Manager, HR Business Partner (PH)
Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Human Resources is responsible for contributing to and leading all HR services for film productions in Atlanta, Georgia.
This will involve collaboration with business leaders, production leaders, HR Centers of Excellence and other HR Business Partners.
This role will have a dedicated focus on employee experience and offer HR/ER support to the production / studios business.
The Senior Manager, Human Resources reports directly into the HR Director, Studios in Burbank, with dotted line reporting to Employee Relations, Lucasfilm HR and Marvel HR
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a trusted advisor, coach and consultant to senior production and business leaders and crew members on Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century Studio live-action productions filming in the Atlanta area.
• Continuously develop and maintain an intimate understanding of production and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with stakeholders and clients, at all levels of the organization
• Coach production leaders and business leaders on HR policies and processes
• Embrace and integrate inclusion and diversity into business and production strategies, nurturing an environment that is open-minded and that embodies the Disney values
• Proactively assess production performance to recommend and drive action through a consultative, ''influence without authority'' approach
• Identify and analyze trends related to recurring issues and recommend strategies to help resolve the issue
• Responsible for promoting and enabling a fair and inclusive workplace that safeguards the company's employment brand by ensuring that employee and company interests are handled in a fair and consistent manner
• There may also be production outside of Atlanta in the Eastern US at times for locations shoots. This individual will also provide support and guidance in these regions.
Recruitment Responsibilities:
• Identify, and recruit talent to meet the needs of the business and create a diverse workforce
• Develop and execute recruitment plans in collaboration with production leaders, business leaders other HR team members and external community partners with a strong focus on acquiring and retaining diverse talent (at all levels) and building a pipeline for future needs
• Demonstrate ability to attract, influence and hire diverse talent by understanding the Walt Disney Company and production specific requirements
• Help to create employment brand awareness and advance our reputation by maintaining the highest standards of candidate experience and client management
Employee Relations Responsibilities:
• Training and Education: Improve employee relations acumen by training and educating partners and clients on updates to policies. This includes facilitating training to crew members to ensure that production teams are provided applicable Compliance training and working with production to ensure a consistent process / accountability is effectively managed
• Investigations: Conduct timely, thorough, and effective investigations arising under Company policy, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and other employment laws and regulations. Investigates and/or provides support in respond to agency claims and labor grievances
• Leave of Absence (LOA): Research and respond to employee enquiries regarding LOA status in complex situations. Work closely with the HR team to manage the separation process for applicable complex cases
• Accommodation: Lead and support the accommodation process through coaching, documentation and applicable follow up
• Critical Incident Response: Organize and participate in applicable threat assessment team calls
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field or related work experience
• Proven experience working as a Human Resources Manager / Business Partner
• Strong Employee Relations experience
• Experience of dealing with Unions/ Guilds would be advantageous
• Knowledge of a production environment is beneficial but not essential
• Proven experience working with senior executives in an ''influence-without authority'' role working as a trusted advisor
• Experience developing and executing fully comprehensive recruitment plans
• Proven ability in conducting investigations; highly skilled in articulating (written and oral) issues and recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
• Proven knowledge of HR industry practices
• Knowledge of employment law and practices; understanding of Company policies, procedures and legislation, with the ability to apply the knowledge to multiple situations
• Creative and strategic problem solving skills
• High degree of initiative, independent judgment and discretion
• Ability to execute against multiple high priority projects through exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills
• Strong verbal and consultative skills; able to consult with leadership and HR partners across multiple businesses
• Strong ability to influence and respond to questions from various groups of key stakeholders, including executives and legal teams
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust
• Able to work independently
• Ability to influence others to act and change behaviour, in relation to employee relations, compliance training, investigations, etc.
