Job Overview
The Talent Management and Internal Mobility team, part of the Learning and Talent Solutions Center of Excellence, leads the development of Talent Management philosophies, processes and tools and drives the work from concept stage through implementation and measurement.
The Senior Manager, Talent Intelligence & Skills Management will play an integral role in our efforts toward building and maintaining a robust skills-based organization. This role will be pivotal in driving our talent management strategy, ensuring that we have the right skills in the right places to meet our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of skills management/taxonomy and the implementation of skills-based HR practices. They will report to the Director, Talent Intelligence and Planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Skills Taxonomy Development:
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of both competency models and of a dynamic and unique skills taxonomy that supports the organization's talent management framework.
• Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate and update skills and competency models regularly.
• Ensure the skills taxonomy is integrated with all HR systems, including LMS, ATS, and performance management platforms.
Skills-Based Talent Management:
• Partner across the talent life cycle to evolve our approach to skills-based talent management processes, including partnership with recruitment, career development, learning and development, internal mobility, and succession planning.
• Drive the adoption of skills-based practices across the organization, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
Talent Intelligence Strategy:
• In partnership with People Insights, gather and refine data inputs across performance, potential, talent plans, succession plans and more to improve our data storytelling capabilities and promote deep knowledge of our internal talent.
• Collaborate with key internal partners as well as maximizing external trends to identify critical skills gaps and work with partners across HR to build strategies to address them.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Support the organization in applying talent intelligence and skills data to inform strategic workforce planning and organizational design.
• Provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders on skills trends, talent gaps, and development needs.
• In partnership with People Insights, maintain dashboards and reports to track the effectiveness of talent intelligence initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Build robust relationships with People Insights, Internal Mobility, HR Business Partners, Career Development, L&D, Talent Acquisition People Insights and business leaders to ensure alignment and integration of talent intelligence initiatives.
• Act as a change agent, driving the adoption of new practices within the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in talent management, HR analytics, or a related field, with a focus on skills-based organizations.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and managing skills as part of talent management.
• Solid understanding of AI and data analytics tools used in talent management.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with HR systems integration and a deep understanding of the HR technology landscape.
The hiring range for this position in California is $163,200.00 - $199,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
