The talent acquisition team plays a critical role in scouting, identifying and advocating for especially dedicated candidates to work for our beloved brands.
Disney Studios is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition with a keen eye for talent and creative sourcing capabilities to lead the team responsible for attracting and assessing talent in the quickly evolving media industry. As a member of the Studios Talent Acquisition leadership team, you will play a role collaborating with Studios Animation and VFX talent leaders and integrating The Walt Disney Company's enterprise Talent Acquisition practices across Studios. Reporting to the VP, Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for leading a team of talent acquisition managers and recruiters who support a variety of Studios businesses; Marketing, Live Action Film/Series, Animation, Production Crew, Music Group, and Stage Play
In this role, you will serve as a leader with vision, not only for attracting and selecting strong external talent, but also for partnering and supporting the internal growth of our employees and cast members. From improving the candidate experience, to shaping the hiring culture, you will operate as a talent leader within the greater Walt Disney Company and inspire your team to deliver a recruiting experience only The Walt Disney company can offer. What You Will Do
• Establish deep relationships with business leaders that allow you to anticipate organizational needs, forecast talent acquisition engagement and proactively build talent pipelines to meet hiring demand
• Lead a recruitment team in implementing innovative, competitive strategies for recruiting and selecting diverse, high-quality talent
• Motivate and inspire our most important audience, our Talent Acquisition Team, to deliver extraordinary talent critical to our success
• Continue to advance recruiting for production crew; a team currently in a start up phase. This role will require partner management to gain credibility and adoption and operationalize recruiting for our productions
• Collaborate with peers on multiple workflows and projects tied to strategic priorities that are critical to our success, such as: Diversity & Inclusion, Events, Talent Acquisition Marketing & Candidate Experience, Data Integrity & Storytelling, and Selection & Assessment
• Ensure a candidate experience for all positions we hire that is commensurate with the experience you would expect from The Walt Disney Company
• With a coaching mentality, develop and grow a highly functioning recruitment organization that will continue to drive innovation and growth across the company
Required Qualifications and Skills
• 7 or more years of Talent Acquisition Leadership experience supporting hiring for creative or production businesses or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated understanding of the media content business
• Collaboration first approach that leans into the strengths of others to find the best solutions to solve the most challenging problems
• Commitment to driving diversity and quality with every hire at scale
• Proven leadership track record managing senior executive relationships
• Ability to collaborate and build relationships with partners across functional and organizational lines while navigating matrixed organizational structures (i.e. HR Business Partners, Compensation, Learning & Development, Process & Infrastructure, TA Marketing)
• Ability to create and implement successful recruitment, sourcing and selection and assessment strategies
• Superior organizational and process management skills as demonstrated by an ability to manage multiple detailed projects and drive to deadlines
• Knowledge of, and experience with, technology tools to support the recruitment function
The hiring range for this position in California is $188,900 to $241,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
