Reporting to the Head of Production, 20th Century Studios is looking for a seasoned physical production executive to join the team as a Vice President. The position will independently lead all aspects of physical production on their assigned films, while being an active and instrumental part of the 20th Century Studios team.
Responsibilities
to Include:
• Independently and efficiently lead all aspects of physical production, for each assigned project from pre-production through delivery, setting direction and standards, while keeping senior executives abreast of plans and strategies.
• Responsible for hiring and maintaining industry-leading key personnel for vendors and freelance positions on assigned shows.
• Determine physical production requirements throughout all stages of development, in partnership with the studio's creative, finance, business affairs, legal, post production, VFX and music departments. Initiates production plans, including determining filming locations, creating schedules, and budgets.
• Work closely with filmmakers and Studio Executives to influence and shape scope, budget, and level of film quality.
• Anticipate potential issues, identify problems, recommend and implement solutions, including feedback on production risks and/or options that can impact staying on budget and schedule; ensuring that budgetary issues are solved while maintaining the film's creative integrity and production value.
• Serve as Line Producer for projects in development and before Show's Line Producer is hired. Forecast, track and manage budget costs and timelines; review and approve cash flows, daily hot costs, and weekly cost reports.
• Oversees and negotiates BTL deals on assigned pictures.
• Work closely, collaboratively, and professionally with producers, line producers, and production teams to put production plans into action.
• Provide daily supervision for project line producers, production supervisors, and production coordinators. Build and maintain strong relationships with filmmaking teams in the field.
• Nurture and maintain strong industry relationships; foster and build new relationships with an eye towards diversity.
• Work strategically and in collaboration with internal teams (i.e., HR, BA, Legal, Labor Relations, etc.) to build, improve, and maintain internal and external processes, policies, and systems.
• Participates in cross company projects, meetings, and events.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 6-8 years as film crew member as a Unit Production Manager, Line Producer or Supervising Producer level or combination of Studio Production executive and film crew member
• Experience working and managing films and budgets at or above $100M
• Must be well versed in tax incentive credits and film crew availability, in order to get the best teams and financial benefits for the Studio
• Proven ability to work efficiently across all levels of management, talent, crew, and staff; proven track record of successfully managing a team in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
• Flexibility and the ability to perform effectively under stress while meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working on international productions.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $423,091 to $567,561 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
