Internship Start Date/Season: Fall 2023
Internship Duration: 3-4 months
Time/Days Required: 16-25 hours; days are flexible but 2-3 days preferred
Workplace Requirements: Hybrid (in office/remote)
UIA Talent Agency is seeking an intern who will be responsible for administrative support, IT support, and Marketing/PR/Social Media support. You will work directly with the UIA Talent Agency team to support firm operations and, in limited instances, work directly with clients on logistics and marketing tasks. Should be available part-time, 2-3 days per week during business hours. Internship will provide college credit. Monthly commuting expenses will be reimbursed, lunches provided or reimbursed, and frequent complimentary tickets to NYC live entertainment performances are available. We will gladly provide references or letters of recommendation.
Responsibilities
-Execute administrative office functions (filing, copying, and phone support).
-Perform content updates to company website.
-Perform day-to-day receptionist duties.
-Perform updates to company social media platforms and find ways to engage with social media audience.
-Assist in developing and contributing to public relations and marketing activities largely related to social media and internet marketing.
-Interact with internal departments to carry out client requirements.
-Complete special projects and reports as delegated by artist management team to streamline operations.
Requirements
-Excellent communication skills, grammar, and the ability to communicate via written, oral and visual media.
-Ability to field/screen phone calls with clients and industry contacts in a friendly, professional, and up-beat manner as well as taking detailed and informative messages.
-An innovative self-starter with problem solving skills, creativity, ambition, and a strong work ethic.
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite products, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems and provide first level tech support to office staff.
-Keen administrative skills and knowledge of standard administrative office practices.
-Passion for social media, knowledge of Facebook and Twitter best practices for businesses, and the ability to interpret social media analytics and report on performance.
-The ability to see a project from start to finish with minimal supervision and intervention.
-Basic knowledge of HTML for updates to WordPress-based website.
-Incredibly personable and enjoys interpersonal communication.
-Knowledge of Opera, Theatre, Film, and/or TV industries are a plus.
-Ability to handle and respect confidential and sensitive information.
-Should not be an active or aspiring performer.
