This is a Full Time Job
UTA seeks a Director, Accounting who will play a key role on the UTA Accounting team, with a focus on month-end close process and revenue recognition for our Sports division. The ideal candidate will be a team player, problem solver, detail-oriented, effective communicator, have high integrity, and should be able to excel in a fast-paced work environment.
The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000 commensurate with experience and skills.
What Will You Do
• Manage month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations for various divisions including Sports
• Perform and review analyses of financials and summarize results to Accounting & Finance executives
• Review player contracts and ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
• Play an integral role in standardizing policies and processes across various operating divisions through the accounting shared service center
• Help drive process improvements through ongoing evaluation of current procedures
• Manage, mentor, train and develop accounting support staff
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Operations, Finance, and Shared Service Center teams to drive process improvements in client payment processing, financial reporting and month-end close
• Assist with annual, quarterly and monthly reporting requirements
• Work closely with external auditors to support the annual financial statement audit
• Prepare ad hoc reports and assist with special projects as needed
What Will You Need
• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including public Big 4 accounting firm and private accounting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related degree
• CPA preferred
• NetSuite experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP), especially ASC 606
• Experience building and improving accounting process, controls and systems
• Experience managing and developing a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate with professionals at all levels
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Strong problem-solving and listening skills
• An analytical mind who works in an organized manner with high attention to detail
• Experience with financial & enterprise systems and prior experience with general ledger entries
• High-energy level and a strong proactive work ethic. Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Demonstrate ability to create processes and procedures while working in a very fast-paced environment
