The A Side: A Day in The Life
To provide management reporting & analytical support within the Universal Music Operations (UMO) finance team. Working in conjunction with the shared service centre, to ensure a smooth day to day running and continual improvement of UMO reporting function.
The B Side: Skills and Experience
Be analytical
• Assisting in monthly reporting for owned overhead departments and assisting in month end process of closure for UMO.
• Responsible for maintaining artist projects in SAP.
• Upload of ledger balances into Hyperion Financial Management.
• Working with the rest of the finance team in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the general ledger.
• Monthly forecasting - responsibility for forecasting and budgeting of owned UMO overhead departments.
• Annual Budget.
• Preparation of reporting for central departments.
• Work to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of our offshore shared service centre.
• Ad hoc analyses and reports as directed.
Be administrative
• Become the main point of support for business and external queries regarding UMO owned departments.
• Responsible for processing employee expense claims.
• Responsible for billing of recording studio time.
• Invoicing for recharges to inter-company and third parties.
• Ad-hoc projects & analysis as required – particularly in providing support to the Management Accountant.
Be operational
• Liaising with company auditors & providing supporting documentation and analysis.
• Preparation of statutory tax pack.
Person specification
• Finance graduate, ideally with industry experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Particularly Excel)
• Strong communication skills
• Good organisation of self and others
• Proactive approach
• Attention to detail
• Flexible with the ability to work in a fast-paced team
