As the Athletic Communications Intern, you will report to the Director of Athletic Communications and play a key role in promoting USA Baseball's events and programs. You will assist with creating written content, managing the organization's website, and supporting social media efforts to uphold USA Baseball's brand and media presence.

POSITION DETAILS
• Full-time hours (40 hours/week)
• Role type: Remote Hybrid
• Based remotely and will travel to work on-site for events as assigned.
• Based in Cary, North Carolina, or Peoria, Arizona
• Possible domestic travel involved in this position (all travel costs covered by USA Baseball)
• USA Baseball has four (4) Intern, Communications positions available USA Baseball will hire two (2) interns to be based in North Carolina and two (2) to be based in Arizona.
IN THIS ROLE
• You will create, proofread, and edit written content for USA Baseball's website, including game recaps, feature stories, and press releases.
• You will maintain USA Baseball's organizational history, including records, rosters, and statistics.
• You will update and manage USA Baseball's website with accurate and timely information.
• You will assist or serve as a press officer for national teams and development programs.
• You will serve as a media contact during events, managing press boxes, social media coverage, and content creation.
• You will monitor media and social platforms to engage with and create content for USA Baseball's audience.
• You will collaborate with the creative services team to use photo and video content effectively on social media.
• You will analyze campaign performance and provide insights to the communications team.
• You will develop and pitch creative ideas to enhance USA Baseball's brand awareness.
• You will assist with additional organizational needs as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• You have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• You have strong creative and strategic thinking abilities.
• You have a strong understanding of baseball, including both the professional and amateur baseball landscapes.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• You are proficient in all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
• You have basic knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or similar creative editing platforms, GameChanger, and/or StatCrew (a plus).
• You have experience writing feature stories, game recaps, media advisories, press releases, and creating social media marketing and content plans.
• You can multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• You have an excellent attitude and work well in a team setting.
• You are willing and able to work flexible, demanding hours and focus on tasks in busy or loud environments.
• You are in possession of or working toward a degree.
Preferred:
• You have experience managing complex projects or initiatives independently.
• You have advanced proficiency in creative editing tools and analytics platforms for digital campaigns.
