This is a Part Time Job
Come be a part of the Utah Jazz Game Presentation team as the beloved Utah Jazz Bear’s assistant. This is a unique opportunity to enrich lives and bring happiness to all Jazz fans. The Mascot Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Utah Jazz Bear during performances at Utah Jazz games, team events and select outside appearances.
The Mascot Assistant must be organized, detail oriented, comfortable speaking and interacting with all fans, as well as possess the ability to solve problems within a fast- paced, high-pressure environment. The Mascot Assistant represents the Utah Jazz and the Utah Jazz Bear brand and must represent oneself in a professional manner as they interact with Jazz fans in the arena and community.
Part time, paid position. Will work a combination of: 45 games (includes pre-season), additional playoff games, rehearsals as needed and select outside appearances, which may occur on nights and weekends. Frequency will vary.
All full-time and part-employees of the Utah Jazz are required to be fully vaccinated by October 8, 2021 (fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks since your final dose). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that all visits, timeouts and all other Jazz Bear elements at games are executed on time
• Be the spoken voice of Utah Jazz Bear at home games and appearances
• Interact with all fans, including answering questions, taking pictures and videos, and
protecting Utah Jazz Bear
• Prepare and assist with wardrobe, props and anything used by Utah Jazz Bear during
appearances, including the cleaning and maintenance of costumes and other equipment
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external appearances of mascot
• Maintain timely response to all communication and requests
• Accompany mascot to events and appearances
• Attend in-person and/or virtual meetings concerning mascot as required
• Maintain the confidentiality of the mascot
• Organize and facilitate skits and stunts to be performed by mascot
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Observe crowd and the environment for any safety issues and respond appropriately as
needed
• Embrace a culture of inclusion and diversity where guests and team members feel welcomed, valued, and heard
• Enrich lives by creating winning experiences and timeless memories
• Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be available to be at the arena 4 hours before tip off of every home game.
• Must be available for 1pm production call (Zoom) on home game days.
• Ability to multitask
• Perform under tight time schedules
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Superior attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
• Desire to work in the area of professional sports
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally
• This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess
• This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time
• This person must be able to lift 50 lbs
