Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club Broadcast Assistant

This is a Full Time Job

The Utah Jazz and the Utah Hockey Club are looking for Broadcast Assistants for the 2023-24 NBA and NHL season. Work includes radio studio production and statistical work for Utah Radio/TV broadcasts as well as potential to work with visiting Radio/TV. No previous experience is necessary, but all applicants must have serious interest in a career in broadcasting. The Broadcast Assistants have a great opportunity to get their foot in the door and experience the real-life dynamics of sports broadcasting. You will work on both the NBA and the NHL broadcasts during the season.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Protect the reputation of the company
• Support production pieces including highlight packages and in game packages for both Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club
• Work as a statistician during all Jazz home games and Utah Hockey Club home games
• Assist in covering shoot-arounds (skate arounds) and practices
• Produce post game summary podcast for both Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club
• Prepare highlight and sound bite production for the radio stations shows.

• Accept other duties, as assigned
• Be available to work from September 22nd to May 1st

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Currently attending a 4-year college or university working towards a related degree
• Striving towards a career in the Broadcasting Field
• Must be able to work all Jazz and Utah Hockey club home and away games
• Needs to be energetic and engaging
• Must be able to take direction and possess a willingness to learn
• Must be flexible and willing to help where needed
• Must be able to handle highly stressful situations in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
• This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
• This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
• This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
