Position Summary:
Join our team at Ventura County Community College District as a Film, Television, & Media Engineer. In this role, you will install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify all types of specialized equipment in a digital television studio, motion picture sound stage, post-production facility, viewing rooms, and all other film television, and audio productions.
This current vacancy is a full-time assignment located at Moorpark College, pending Board approval.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, operate, and install digital and analog equipment in TV studios, field productions, recording studios, radio stations, and post-production facilities.
Prepare equipment for students and faculty, ensuring correct assembly, safe operation, and proper return.
Demonstrate equipment use and care to instructors and students.
Inspect, clean, adjust, maintain, and make minor repairs on various equipment; schedule vendors for complex repairs.
Analyze and diagnose engineering and software problems using schematics and logic probes.
Use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to locate equipment malfunctions.
Calibrate equipment with oscilloscopes, voltage meters, current meters, signal generators, digital logic analyzers, and audio/spectrum analyzers.
Consult with faculty on specific equipment and supply needs; research, order, receive, and store supplies and equipment.
Maintain media and data records for post-production editing and courses.
Keep detailed records for inventory, purchasing, and repairs; manage equipment issuance and return procedures.
Troubleshoot equipment issues during classes, on-location productions, and campus productions.
Consult with faculty on student worker needs; interview, hire, train, and provide direction to student workers.
Monitor software use in editing labs and provide technical support for project completion.
Determine recording and rehearsal schedules for studio, portable, and remote units.
Design and fabricate special audio and visual systems for production, editing, and remote recording.
Set up studio and TV control room for production; support TV production editing.
Assist students in video production techniques; provide technical direction on set design, lighting, and audio mixing.
Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrate cultural humility, sensitivity, and equity-mindedness, modeling inclusive behaviors to achieve equitable outcomes.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
An associates degree or equivalent college units (60 semester or 90 quarter units) from a recognized college or university with a major in media arts, broadcasting, cinema, film, television, or a related field, AND two years of professional experience working in a digital media setting such as a television station, studio, or production company which includes experience recording and editing video and audio content.
