Sourcing and Procurement Manager

The Sourcing and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the centralized end to end process of the direct acquisition of goods and services needed for the UK cluster including production, general supplies, equipment, etc., as well as cost-effectively supporting organizational operations. This includes managing an existing buyer and analyst, planning and coordinating the work. Additionally, this role will be using metrics to evaluate departmental operational efficiency and effectiveness, and to ensure compliance to Viacom’s global sourcing policy. The candidate will deliver cost savings, value creation, and quality solutions based on close collaboration with business and finance leaders. The desirable candidate will be an adaptable Sourcing and Procurement professional with interest and flexibility to work across multiple categories.
The role will be based in London, and will be focused on driving regional and local sourcing and procurement initiatives across Viacom’s International business in the UK, Northern, and Eastern Europe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the procurement function for the UK and support International purchasing, ensuring an efficient service is provided and the highest level of customer service received
• Responsible for drafting and preparing formal supplier requests including RFP’s, RFI’s, and RFQ’s across a wide range of products and services that generate qualitative and quantitative supplier responses, solutions, and savings to the company
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and key stakeholders
• Deliver ongoing annual reduction and cost efficiencies on sourceable spend within the categories
• Track and report all spend reductions, cost efficiencies, and value that the team delivers to management
• Work as team member in vendor evaluation and selection; lead selection process and negotiations; recommend winning bidder based on best value for the company
• Lead specified business units through sourcing process and ensure sourcing decisions are consistent with overall company strategy, policy and needs
• Proactively review all procurement procedures, processes, and tracking information for continual service improvement
• Act as the subject matter expert, regarding procurement, for new systems being installed
• Track spends against approved budgets, producing accurate forecasting on each line
• Work closely with the technology teams in the UK and regions to assist with planning the role out of assets in line with the various projects / replacement programmes
• Maintain awareness of new and emergent technologies, competitor activities and general knowledge of the technology
• Act as the escalation point for the procurement team
• Liaise with Global Sourcing on any Enterprise Agreements; ensuring the POs are up to date and if regions are required to raise POs, to ensure they are completed in a timely manner within the terms of the agreement. Ensure any true up is handled within the timeframe given
• Keep up to date on the latest required models/kit required for both laptops and PCs for the global desktop pool; and agree global pricing
• Distribute the pricing and model guide once a year to all regions involved in the desktop pool CER
• To ensure an excellent working relationship with all our main suppliers; especially for telephone, PCs, Laptops, Macs etc whether they are distributors or direct relationship with the manufacturers
• Clearly communicate role, guidance and job expectations of the Procurement Analyst and manage their day to day performance
• Ensure full training and proficiency to the level required in all new technologies introduced by Viacom; ie SAP, Service Now, Tableau, etc and also ensure the Procurement Analyst is also at a competent level
• Seek out strategic ways to save money across Viacom International; whether with existing contracts or identify new areas within the business and act quickly upon all Procurement opportunities
• Work within a team environment to achieve established common goals and deadlines
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting
• General knowledge of Accounting Principles
• Experience with eSourcing and Spend tools
• Deep knowledge and experience of sourcing and procurement processes
• Experience in complex negotiations and prioritizing multiple components
• 5 years Supervisor experience
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Some travel required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Experience in Entertainment industry a strong plus
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Strong communication skills - oral, written, interpersonal
• Strong negotiating skills
• Decision-making ability
