Job Title: Senior Production Coordinator, Milkshake!

Status: Fixed term maternity cover 1 year, immediate start from March
URPOSE F THE ROLE:
The Senior Production Coordinator, Milkshake! is responsible for supporting all aspects of production, studio/gallery and on air continuity featuring the Milkshake! presenting team for daily linear and non-linear transmission. In this role they will be accountable for managing the Milkshake! Apprentice and supporting the Producer/Directing team to ensure quality creative content that delivers on the editorial and commercial objectives of the brand to inspire our audience to watch and love the output, administration of required studio paperwork and a drive to maintain and improve ratings that deliver on agreed performance targets.
They will have a pre-school editorial and creative view and have experience in production coordination of studio and location productions.
Purpose of the role:
• To oversee all operational, administrative and logistical aspects of the studio production
• To support the Producers, Directors and Presenting team to deliver the best Milkshake! content
• To drive ratings performance
• To strengthen the Milkshake! brand on and off air, and across multiple digital platforms to build audience interaction, views and engagement
The Ideal candidate would be:
• Passionate and creative about children’s content
• Production Coordinator experience ideally in a broadcast studio/gallery environment and working with presenters
• Has a good understanding of Milkshake! content
• Is confident in approach, with excellent communication skills to both internal and external departments
• Has a sense of fun and enjoys working in a small team
• Provide production management support to the Milkshake! production team to create, plan and execute themes and initiatives for on-air and social production to drive the content priorities and ratings
Key Accountabilities
• Oversee administrative management for weekly studio filming making sure all documents and paperwork required for studio talent and crew are completed, including rotas, call sheets, risk assessments and bookings with the Continuity Producer
• Generate clock numbers using WON (Broadcast Management System) for continuity links and prepare ‘make lists’ for Presenters, Directors and MSO/Editor for weekly studio records
• Prepare continuity requirements choosing viewer and priority editorial content to ensure Milkshake! continuity is entertaining and relevant to viewers
• Oversee the contracting of freelance studio personnel and bookings for skin artists with the Continuity Producer
• Order office and studio supplies, book travel and accommodation as required
• Manage the set up and set down of all studio, gallery and make up room supplies and props with the Milkshake! apprentice
• Production Assistant in studio and gallery, supporting the Director and Presenters, operating on air graphics, vision mixing, soundbites for Milkshake! costume characters with assistance from the Milkshake! apprentice
• Manage the Milkshake! inbox making editorial choices for content to be used keeping in line with GDPR regulations
• Manage and deliver all studio competitions for linear and digital, liaising with external and internal marketing and consumer products teams to acquire prizes, write terms and conditions and VO script, assuring all legal and compliance requirements are met. Administer competition entries, selecting winners, writing response letters and posting prizes with Milkshake! Apprentice
• Manage product tagging, selecting relevant products including DVD’s, Book and Magazines to promote in the programme end slate space and scheduling, scripting, VO directing, and liaising with C5 Scheduling and Navigation Team to insure timely and correct delivery to air
• Complete music cue sheers and ensure all continuity music used is reported correctly
• File Milkshake! assets for edit and delivery for the on air pre records
• Ensure all content meets Ofcom regulations, music clearance and reporting requirements
• Manage and open the post with the Milkshake! Apprentice
• Line manage the Apprentice and Freelance Production Assistants, approving holiday, organising passes and daily duties
• Oversee the process for the apprentice scheme, meeting with HR and the apprentice mentors and assessors to ensure duty of care, schedules and course requirements
• Provide cover for the Continuity Producer including planning promotional priorities and new content, scheduling promotions and idents and producing the studio production rota
• Generate ideas to expand the brand and commercial opportunities, working with commercial, consumer products and events teams
Experience and Knowledge required:
• Solid TV production and live studio/gallery experience, preferably in UK preschool market
• A good knowledge and commitment to providing output of high quality
• Excellent understanding of operational production requirements
• Good script writing skills
• Experience creating running orders, makelists and production paperwork
• Experience working with talent, crew and children
• Evidence of managing junior members of a production team
• Experience working with marketing, PR and external clients
• Good customer service skills and evidence of responding directly to viewers
• Passionate, articulate, creative and ability translate ideas into actionable plans
• Knowledge of the UK kids programme market and current channels’ output
• Good knowledge of GDPR and Ofcom broadcast regulations and working with children guidelines
• Good knowledge of the importance of rights/copyright/clearance issues
• Experience of budget and contract management
• Working knowledge of broadcasting research
• Good I.T. Skills including PowerPoint and Excel and experience using a Broadcast Media Management system to input data (e.g. WON, Tedial)
• Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro
