About VIRTUE
Founded in 2006, VIRTUE Worldwide is a full-service creative agency born out of VICE Media. We are looking for two creative interns, an art director and a copywriter, to support the creative team with day-to-day creative support, new business pitches, and internal projects. The Creative Interns will report directly to the Executive Creative Director and also have an opportunity to work closely with the entire team including our Global and U.S. Heads of Department, PR, and Agency Marketing Director.
ABOUT THE VICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
VICE interns will get a firsthand look into how an international media company functions on a day-to-day basis. At VICE, interns have the opportunity to learn about journalism, editing, design, public relations, production, and more. VICE's Human Resources Department oversees the training and learning experience of each intern by providing interns with seminars on career development, and helping them achieve goals throughout the session. VICE is dedicated to its internship program and attracts the best and the brightest students to join the VICE family.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The VIRTUE Creative Art Director Intern will work as a duo with the Copywriter Intern and the full VIRTUE team to provide a constant flow of creative ideas at all sessions, work to help in any way execute creative projects/concepts in a timely fashion, present concepts, and find multiple ways to answer a proposition or request to handle project presentations. Additional responsibilities will include preparing ideas/concepts in deck form, presenting to internal and potentially external customers, and assisting the Creative, Strategy and Client team with any and all tasks as assigned.
An ideal candidate will be in school for a creative career, and have knowledge creative concepting and presentation and extensive online, digital and social media engagement. We are looking for interns who exemplify passion, positivity, diligence and self-motivation. Great research, conception and communications skills are a must. The Creative Interns will also be required to understand the difference between an idea, an execution and mechanics - in addition to understanding how ideas fit into broader brand and communication strategies. For the Art Director Intern specifically, we are looking for a candidate fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud, with a confident sense of design, typography, and layout for static and motion content. Lastly, strong candidates must possess the ability to work with others in think tanks and work teams within a highly creative and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and production schedules.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet all of the criteria below to be eligible:
Interns must currently be enrolled in a two or four year college/university.
Interns must attend the required Intern Orientation.
Interns must be available to work the full intern session: June 5, 2018 - August 10, 2018.
Creative Interns must provide work samples representative of their skills via a portfolio website. The work can be from personal projects, schoolwork, or previous internships.
Creative Interns must indicate if they are applying as a team with another person. Having a dedicated partner is not required, and we cannot guarantee that you will be hired as a team.
All interns must have proper authorization to work in the United States.
Interns are non-exempt and will be paid an hourly rate of $13.25/hour in Los Angeles.
Note: Interns may earn school credit, depending on the school's requirements. However, earning school credit is not a requirement of participation in the internship program and there is no option for an unpaid internship for credit.
