Digital Journalist – College Sports Coverage

Description:
This innovative and creative Digital Journalist role requires expertise in producing a range of sports content, from writing and editing to managing contributed content. The journalist will oversee content accuracy, including data updates such as NCAA brackets and polls, and produce reader-friendly material across platforms. The role involves optimizing headlines and using analytics tools (Chartbeat, Omniture) to track content performance, as well as leveraging social media for audience engagement. Collaboration with video producers to integrate video content and live streaming is also part of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Select, edit, and post diverse content types (text, stats, video, etc.)
• Publish content on both internal and external platforms in alignment with league and partner guidelines.
• Monitor and gather news from external sources and social media.
• Ensure all content is grammatically correct and accurate.
• Edit and prioritize stories per league editorial standards.
• Collaborate with video teams to add video content and coordinate live streaming.
• Update championship and microsite content and report technical issues as needed.
• Provide event coverage as required.
Qualifications:
• 2 years of editorial experience, preferably in digital sports media.
• Proficiency in HTML, Photoshop, and content management systems.
• Strong editorial and news judgment skills, including copy editing.
