We are currently seeking a Director, Residuals Operations to join the Residuals department. The Director, Residuals Operations is responsible for all tasks associated with executing TV, cable, film, pay television and video residuals. The role works jointly with the Vice President, Residuals in the day-to-day operations of the department and to identify strategic and technical opportunities to integrate and increase efficiencies both procedurally and operationally. A large component of the job is utilizing expertise in payroll provisioning, guild residuals, taxes, liens, levy's, garnishments, minor trusts and pension and welfare issues. Knowledge in the controlling of disbursements is also a fundamental part of this role.
Responsibilities of the Director include:
• Oversee residuals projections and other analyses for the Sales, Business Affairs, Labor Relations, Participations and Financial Reporting departments.
• Interact with and provide guidance to Business Affairs, Labor Relations, Legal, Payroll, Production, Sales, Financial Reporting, Unions, Talent Agencies, Business Managers and other internal and external customers.
• Initiate and coordinate the development of functional enhancements to the residuals system and related interfaces.
• Manage the review and approval of residuals payments.
• Provide leadership to staff (including development, performance evaluations and general oversight).
Desirable candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education required.
• 7 or more collective years of accounting and technical experience required.
• Prior managerial experience required.
• 5 or more years of residuals accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll and tax functions, SAP, automated residual systems preferred.
• Entertainment experience required.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining provisions related to residuals/ancillary payments.
