Job Title: Director, FP&A
A little bit about our team:
The WMG FP&A team is responsible for ensuring compliance with WMG's internal management reporting standards. The team collaborates across divisions, conducting a wide range of analyses including operating performance, market/competitive analysis, and ad-hoc projects. They provide comprehensive reporting and analysis for all actual, forecast, and budget cycles within WMG.
Your role:
This role requires a strong background in variance analysis and a deep understanding of accounting and finance. We are seeking an individual who is proactive in analyzing financial variances and can effectively communicate financial results and forecasts. You will collaborate closely with financial leadership across all divisions and the corporate executive team.
You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of key management financial reports, focusing on areas such as affiliate-specific P&L performance, consolidated WMG performance against the annual budget, prior forecasts, and prior year results. This position will report directly to the VP, Financial Reporting & Analysis.
As a proactive leader, you will manage financial analysis and drive performance across departments. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong leadership by effectively managing resources, mentoring team members, and collaborating across all levels of the organization. You will be expected to inspire, motivate, and hold others accountable for achieving both individual and team goals, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration.

Key Leadership Responsibilities:
• Supervise monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, ensuring accurate and timely communication of results and forecasts to senior management.
• Lead a team of two, providing coaching and guidance to help them grow professionally while fostering a high-performance culture.
• Partner with various stakeholders, including senior leadership, to integrate financial insights into company strategy and influence decisions.
• Ensure team members and stakeholders are held accountable for deliverables, consistently meeting performance targets and financial goals.
• Lead Cross-Functional Projects: Take charge of ad-hoc projects that require collaboration across departments, demonstrating your ability to unite teams and drive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Be responsible for the Corporate Reporting and Analysis process, ensuring timely monthly reporting of actual and forecast results. Coordinate with segment finance leads at Recorded Music, Music Publishing, and Corporate operating segments for accurate reporting and analysis of WMG's performance.
• Lead and review financial review packages summarizing WMG's performance, including key metrics, for the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, and Controller.
• Prepare concise summaries of monthly actual and forecast results, comparing them to prior year, prior forecast, and budget, highlighting significant variances.
• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of recurring source files, primarily in Excel with HFM Smart View functionality, which form the foundation of senior management reporting.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations and External Reporting to assist in the development of quarterly and annual press releases, earnings script documents, and other financial communications.
• Run critical metric reporting across the organization and conduct detailed cost analysis.
• Work closely with External Reporting to review quarterly MD&A, income statement analysis, and other ad-hoc reporting during the earnings process.
This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to WMG's financial performance and provide strategic insights to senior leadership.
About you:
• 10+ years professional experience in accounting and financial analysis
• CPA preferred
• Large multi-national experience a plus
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of financial systems and software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance / Economics

• The ability to work proactively, independently and as a strategic partner in a team environment
• Knowledge of music/media industry strong plus
