Job Title: Coordinator, Clearance – WMG Global Sync U.S.
A little bit about our team:
Visual Media Licensing (VML) handles sync licensing for the entire Warner Music Group roster. From legacy artists such as Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin to young up-and-comers such as Symba and Prateek Kuhad, our unit works hard to research, clear and negotiate opportunities in film, TV, advertising, video games, mobile apps, promos, and trailers.
Your role:
This position allows you the opportunity to independently negotiate your own deals and maintain your own relationships with clearance clients, music supervisors, artist managers and label partners. While the position is largely autonomous, you will collaborate closely with your teammates and rely on each other for assistance and support.
Here you'll get to:
• Provide high-level administrative support whenever necessary, including to joint units in the department
• Contribute to shared organizational functions such as operational duties, work coverage, calendar management, record keeping
• Learn to handle clearances and negotiations to arrive at the best terms and fees for our artists while maintaining a respectful and friendly relationship with clearance clients and music supervisors.
• Perform and analyze research on sync rights and distribute accurate information to the department.
• Coordinate and confer with outside parties such as repertoire co-owners and side artist labels.
• Collaborate with the licensing team to maintain consistency, adhere to established precedents and pre-negotiated language.
• Liaise with various external business units in the company to coordinate and execute needs of the department.
• Handle client access to audio/video assets (alternate mixes, stems, multi-tracks, etc.) and other deliverables.
• Work in tandem with studio services teams to facilitate the creation of new audio assets tailored to client specifications and project needs.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to conversations regarding department procedures & protocols.
• Maintain accurate records, manage data entry, and update internal systems in accordance with department procedure and company policy.
• Appropriately and discreetly handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information.

We'd love it if you also had:
• A minimum of 1 - 2 years of relevant sync clearance, quoting, negotiating experience.
• A baccalaureate degree with a major or minor in music (business or music business preferred)
• Highly proficient computer skills and strong email correspondence etiquette.

Effective October 1st, 2023, this position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.
Salary Range
$17.95 to $25.00 Hourly
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
