Here you'll get to:
• Prepare, analyze, review, and distribute participation profit share and distribution statements according to contractual agreements
• Compile, analyze and review transactional data to support statement reporting
• Interpret, and summarize artist and label contracts, create related statements and financial schedules, provide contractual and financial data for deal models and analysis
• Apply your financial accounting skills: review profitability analysis, identify variances and trends, create commentary to explain insights from financial statements, perform reconciliations, update cash forecasts and budgets, investigate audit issues and claims, perform tasks as part of the overall close process (includes accruals & true ups to expense, balance sheet transfers & reclasses, recoupments, participation, P&D and merch liabilities, and journal entries)
• Follow department financial controls and policies, communicate deficiencies and gaps to management
• Maintain vendor master data, input, code & co-ordinate payments
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across the company (up to senior executives), follow up open work items, respond to requests from internal and external partners
• Communicate status & escalate issues as appropriate to your manager, manage work according to department deadlines, meeting department service levels and KPIs
• Learn WMG operational & accounting systems, develop expertise in participations accounting & operations
• Contribute ideas to process transformation, innovation, and improvement of team operations
• Provide support to our peers, assist with supervision of team, and demonstrate best practices
• Represent and contribute to the culture of the Participations group
About you:
• BA/BS degree required, preferably in accounting or finance related fields
• 3-5 years of experience working in a related capacity
• Financial statement preparation background
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, working with large data sets and complex calculations
• Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally and communicate with internal & external stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, execute tasks with accuracy and deliver under pressure
• Ability to understand complex information quickly, breakdown and communicate to others
We'd love it if you also had:
• Entertainment, Media, or Music Industry experience working in Participations/Royalties or similar role
• Experience working remotely in a Shared Services environment
• Technical working expertise with SAP S4 Hana, SAP Analysis for Office, BI, SharePoint
