Job Description: Director, Community Relations
The Director, Community Relations will work with VP to develop and implement strategic plan for community relations that will broaden awareness of WWE's commitment to CSR, enhance WWE's corporate reputation and brand image and drive awareness and results for WWE's charitable partners
Key Responsibilities
• Develop fully integrated marketing and communications strategy, action plan, timeline and budget for select CSR pillars and programs. Become subject matter expert on relevant trends, issues, best practices, etc. within core areas of responsibility.
• Build, manage and expand new and existing partnerships and programs to support WWE business strategies and impact mission/cause of partner organizations. These partnerships and programs may include:
• Be a STAR: Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, GLAAD and more
• Special Olympics International, Special Olympics USA Games and 50th Anniversary Celebration, Special Olympics World Games and Special Olympics Connecticut
• Hire Heroes USA and USO Metro
• Connor's Cure: The V Foundation and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation; Susan G. Komen and Make-A-Wish
• Develop, manage and execute CSR activation strategy for key tent pole events like, SummerSlam, WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, etc. This would include working with the local organizing committee and key CSR partners to identify opportunities for in-market support aligned to WWE CSR platform.
• Effectively integrate WWE Talent and Executive Leadership into programs, events and community opportunities
• Lead internal project teams (Communications, TV, Digital, Social Media, Live Events, Network Marketing, etc.) for all programs, campaigns, events and initiatives for your key platforms, partnerships and programs
• Effectively use all WWE and partner assets to promote programs and partnerships to key audiences including the non-profit, media, and corporate communities
• Deliver presentations to senior level management with minimal supervision
• Develop, maintain and strengthen the WWE's visibility and influence with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to further WWE's CSR platform, build brand recognition and enhance corporate reputation
• Troubleshoot a variety of issues at various events; proactive leadership skills to anticipate changes required to assist internal and external partners
• Director will oversee contract staff and vendors and manage all aspects of the budget to meet organizational expenditure requirements
• Prepare CSR activity reports and communicate to senior leadership on a regular basis
• Manage, supervise, and mentor staff - ability to lead people and projects effectively
• Ability to create dynamic relationships-while being goal focused in a timely manner
• Keep current with WWE programming, Talent, products, and services
Qualifications
• 8-10 years of experience developing, organizing, and executing CSR programs, initiatives, and events (Sports, Entertainment or Media experience preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communications, leadership/management, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, effectively managing multiple programs and projects simultaneously while still paying close attention to detail
• Strong understanding of digital/social media tools and platforms
• Proactive, self-motivated team player that can execute independently
• Willing and able to be hands-on in executing programs
• Able to work flexible hours and travel for business as needed (approximately 35%)
• Strong leadership skills to hire, develop and manage staff members
• Excellent project management skills and strategic leadership experience
• Valid driver's license and vehicle that can be used for business as needed
• Bachelor degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or related field of study preferred
